STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Runnin’ Down The Riptide

The season of cold nights and rainy days is nearing its end. Spring is just around the corner and it’s about time you start reorganizing your coat-filled wardrobe to add some fresh hints of floral and color. For the guys, try switching out your long denim jeans in exchange for a pair of shorts that fit perfectly above the knee. Take inspiration from this Fashionisto, who has taken initiative to get into that spring season mode through his attire.

The star of this outfit has to be the Fashionisto’s top. With its deep blue hues, this shirt is definitely not just your average tie-dye print. Its strategically placed white stripes indicated uniformity that makes the overall look all the more put together. He matched the blue with his tan shorts that are reminiscent of the warmer days to come. The Fashionisto decided to follow the blue theme by wearing socks with similar colored stripes. For school days such as this in which comfort is key, the Fashionisto sported a pair of black Vans and a backpack for all of his class supplies.

Since warm weather requires less layered clothing, it is often the case that people tend to give little effort in dressing. However, with simple cues, such as adding patterns and color coordinating, a seemingly plain outfit can look quite stylish and well put together. This Fashionisto also pulled the look together by gelling his hair back in a very trendy manner.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Even though finals are almost here, I try to dress comfortably but still look presentable. Wear a patterned top to make it a look more stylish.”
