STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Professional Friday

Friday classes are the dread of every college student. Having to pry yourself out of bed after a Thirsty Thursday just to sit through some lecture for an hour or so; dreaming of the nap you plan on taking the second you return to your room. The perfect outfit for a day like this may seem like sweatpants and a sweatshirt, but sometimes you have to fight that lazy urge, put on a pair of jeans, and put a brush through your hair.

This Fashionista paired her navy blazer with a baby pink buttoned blouse to give her outfit a perfect contrast of light and dark colors. To keep the preppy/professional look a little more casual, she wore a pair of jeans and suede booties. The Tory Burch tote and Kate Spade iPhone case really express her fashionable taste without it being over-the-top. The dainty silver pendant necklace is the perfect completion: subtle yet elegant.

Some students are scared to express their love of fashion and style on campus because they fear being uncomfortable. This Fashionista shows full confidence with this look. After all, we can’t dress comfy-cozy for our whole lives. The navy blazer pulls the whole outfit together; it adds bold contrast and a preppy look. On a 50 degree day, there’s no need for a jacket!

Sometimes dressing up for class, a presentation or whatever it may be, helps you get out of the slump you’ve been in all week; it’s something to look forward to, and people will definitely compliment your bold style. So, why not take a few extra minutes in the morning to express yourself? Confidence is key in life and certainly in fashion!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “A blazer is a weak way to make your jeans more professional.”
