STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Off-the-Shoulder

Pick up any fashion magazine today and you are guaranteed to see off-the-shoulder tops. From the style in flowy shirts to fitted dress, the off-the-shoulder look is arguably the biggest trend of this summer. Coming just after it in second place is the color white. Pair those two trends together and bam! you have today’s Fashionista.

Wearing a white off-the-shoulder top, this Fashionista shows some skin while looking relaxed and effortlessly cool. An airy top is perfect for summer when temperatures get a little too hot and you want to stay comfortable. Flowy, off-the-shoulder tops have been spotted everywhere (can you say Coachella?) and you can expect to see more at upcoming festivals. This top is versatile enough to go from a beachy to boho vibe.

To add a pop of color, she wears pleated shorts in bright orange. This lightweight material also makes this piece ideal for the warmer months because it’s not going to cling to your skin. If your goal is to stay as cool as possible, you’re going to want clothes that give room for your skin to breathe.

The rest of this outfit is composed of neutrals. The leather cross-body bag is a good size for carrying only your essentials and its nude color makes it super easy to wear with everything. This Fashionista stays on-trend by rocking the lace-up sandal look with a pair of tall gladiators. With all the outdoor events and activities you’ll be busy with this summer, flat sandals are going to be your best friend, I promise. To finish off the look, she wears her favorite pair of sunglasses.

As much as I’m sure we all love black, summer is about sun-kissed skin and fun colors. So go out in the sun (with sunscreen of course!) and show off those bright colors that have been hibernating in your closet through winter.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “This summer I’m obsessed with my gladiator sandals! This pair from Michael Kors is the perfect shade of nude that goes with everything. Definitely recommend adding a pair to your wardrobe.”
