STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Mix, Match And Risk It All

April 22nd, 2016 at 2:00am

In the world of those who know how to dress, and of those who don’t, the weather treats everyone equally. With spring well on the path to summer, the sweater in the morning and sweat in the afternoon weather has made its annual debut.

This Fashionista is showing off a style all her own, embracing the changing weather while also letting her own flare make a cameo. While her skirt is ready to face the sun and warm weather that the afternoon brings, her knee socks pick up the slack for those early hours where the wind chill shows no mercy. Her sweater, however, is playing for both teams. Made of thick cotton, but sporting half-sleeves, it serves several purposes.

Sporting a pearl bracelet, which complements her studded skirt, and black boots, this Fashionista has put together a completely unique outfit. Mixing the vertical run of her sweater with the pleated skirt and socks that offer a design of their own, this Fashionista took a risk by mixing and matching colors, fabrics and textures—and it’s a good thing she did. The outcome turned out to be an outfit that was fresh, fun and, most importantly, all her own.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Don’t limit yourself to what pieces of clothing you already know work together. Play around with different patterns and additions you normally would not consider, like the socks for example. Have fun and be confident in whatever you do and whatever you wear. You never know, your risks could bring you something new entirely.”
