STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Mix And Match

April 1st, 2015 at 2:00am

We are in this awkward phase of the year where we can’t tell what’s appropriate to wear. The weather fluctuates so much during the day that we don’t know if we should dress for summer, spring or winter. Why not a combination of all three? This Fashionista’s look sums up what you need to be prepared for this week. A sweater for the cold, a skirt for spring and a pair of sneakers for the summery weather.

Unlike last week, the snow is off the ground, hopefully for good! With warmer mornings, sneakers are a great choice of footwear to wear to class. Because they are extremely comfortable, they make the power walks from place to place much more effortless.

My favorite piece in this Fashionista’s look is her midi skirt. There’s no denying that florals are back. I mean, it’s not like they ever went anywhere, but now is the season to pull them out in truck loads. In this side of the world, we haven’t seen any flowers blooming yet. So wearing floral prints is almost like a way to cheer the flowers on and out—just a little reminder to the plants of what it ought to look like around this time of the year.

Feeling hot or cold is a relative thing. However, there’s no denying that it’s still a little chilly. So this Fashionista finished off her look with a red sweater.

Although she mixes and matches elements of the different seasons, her look is in harmony, as each piece has a bit of red on it.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Mix and match! Until the weather decides what season we are in, you don’t have to decide what season you are dressing for.”
