STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Midi Is The Movement

It’s not too long and not too short; the midi is just right! This is the main reason why midi dresses are the rage in Fashionistas/os closets during the semester. Like this Fashionista I spotted on campus, you too can rock this comfy yet stylish outfit at your school.

Being someone who is on the shorter side, I always had a hard time adjusting to maxi dresses. While a maxi dress can make you seem taller and more elegant, it’s hard to manage when rushing back and forth on campus. Since many of us have presentations for finals and have interviews coming up for the summer, you want to make sure you also look professional. The solution to this problem is the midi dress because it is the perfect amount of classy and cute for staying trendy.

A basic midi dress can be designed in multiple ways and is easy to add your own sense of style to. Adding a pair of chunky heels and a light cardigan as our Fashionista has done displays this flexibility. She looks boho-chic with her combination of her rounded sunglasses, vintage-styled rings, and her tribal backpack. This bohemian look is not only comfortable but is also a dressy enough outfit to score a 10 on your presentation or interview, all thanks to the midi dress movement.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I think everyone should try adding a pair of heels to their outfit, especially when you are trying to make your attire more formal. The best part of wearing a simple dress is being able to add my own style to it!”
