STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Live in Olive

Autumn is by far my most favorite season, and I’m sure many of my fellow Fashionistas would say the same. There are so many more options to choose from when it comes to outerwear, boots and knits. I feel I can be more creative with my fall outfits and still utilize some summer pieces by layering. However, the main reason why I love autumn is because of the color palette that comes along with it. I love being surrounded by trees covered in dark green, deep red, brown and bright orange. This new environment influences my style because I tend to reach for darker colors to match the leaves.

One color I have been drifting toward more often this season is olive. It is a very versatile color that looks good on everyone and can go with any style. This Fashionista also has olive fever since she chose to go with a monochromatic outfit today. Her dress, coat and hat were all different shades of green. Her dress is definitely a summer favorite, but she made use of it for this season by throwing on a longline bomber on top. She also wore some over-the-knee boots to keep her legs warm during the chilly mornings and evenings. These boots, along with her gold hoops, also gave the overall look a more feminine and sexy appeal.

Dad caps are a college must-have because they are perfect for lazy mornings when you don’t feel like dealing with your hair. Choosing to wear a monochromatic outfit is also a great morning hack when you are running late and still want to look well put together. Neutrals like olive, beige and brown are perfect for the fall season and will ensure you still look stylish without much effort.
