STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Lime Light

With the winter chill approaching, the creativity of layering while remaining on-point with your style can be one of the biggest challenges for Fashionista/os alike. Are you more of a jeans, leggings or corduroy person? This Fashionista doesn’t fit into any of those categories and she looks amazing! Pleather, an imitation leather derived from polyurethane (for my textile nerds out there!) is something definitely worth trying out this season. Pleather is perfect because of it’s versatile quality. When styled correctly it can take you from class to a night out with friends.

Pleather pants can be viewed as a challenge for many. I know it took me four years to try on a pair of skinny jeans. But luckily for us, we live in a world with plenty of creative minds creating new garment forms every day. Pleather can be found in a number of different garments and they range in price depending on the quality. I know as college students this can be key as many of us are ballin’ on a budget.

For the end of fall and winter season black is an ideal color for this trend because it pairs nicely with the various holiday colors ranging from gold to red. Also, look for items that include interesting details, like the gold zippers pictured here. Looking for pieces with complementary materials or contrasting colors is also key in order to pull the whole look together seamlessly.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I tend to pick an outfit that sets a mood. With this outfit I wanted to feel edgy, but conservative and with just the right pop of personality.”
