STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: How to Wear Popular Trends

As the seasons start to change, the fashion around Kent State’s campus becomes more comfortable and, unfortunately, less fashionable. Living in Ohio, it’s pretty hard to keep warm. The weather here can be forty degrees one day and the next it will be seventy (I am not even exaggerating; this actually just happened). But I am here to tell you that you can wear all of the newest and popular trends of fall without feeling like you’re living in Alaska.

This Fashionista is keeping up with her usual edgy style, but also showing us all of the newest fall trends. One of the biggest trends I have been seeing across the internet is the cut out shirt. A lot of Fashionista’s have been creative with DIY projects with items like an old shirt or something vintage. I have also seen a lot of Fashionista’s add laces to their DIY cut out shirts. Instead of making her own shirt, this Fashionista has found this trend at Altard’d State.

The second trend she is wearing are knee-high boots. I love the fringe detail on the back of her boots. This detail allows the boots to stay in place and not fall down during the day while she walks all over campus. I think that knee-high boots are here to stay and will be  trending for a long time.

The last trend this Fashionista is wearing is a leather jacket with a white color block. Leather is a staple in an edgy girl’s wardrobe. The white color block makes this jacket really unique and kind of reminds me of a varsity jacket. Leather jackets are definitely not a trend, they are a classic.

The next time you’re not sure what to wear for the cold weather and want to still look fashionable, try adding a simple trend to vamp up your outfit a little!
