STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: High-Tops Equal Happiness

Raise your hand if you own a pair of Converse! Guilty? If you are an Ole Miss gal, your hand is probably in the air right now. The campus Converse trend started off with the original design in various colors. However, this year, it seems that high-tops are quickly taking the place of the classic design. After all, I did count five girls wearing a pair of them in the Starbucks line in one day…just saying.

Here, we have one of those high-top-loving girls. She’s wearing a classic pair of off-white Chuck Taylors, my personal favorite color. I wear mine like these all of the time because they go with literally every color in my closet. I really like how you can tell they are worn. Did you know that you can actually purchase Converse that look like they have been worn? They have a collection devoted to this vintage look.

In order to keep the casual style going, this Fashionista paired a basic top with black shorts and aviators. Her sunnies rock almost as much as her shoes, right? One of the best things about high-tops is that they are timeless. Even in 2015, a man around my dad’s age pointed out my shoes in the Starbucks line. Yes, I just mentioned Starbucks twice in one post. Anyways, he was telling me about how he played basketball and ran track in the same sneakers I was wearing. This just shows that through the years, Converse and the high-top style are here to stay.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Don’t be afraid, even if a lot of people are wearing a certain trend. Things like high-tops are such staples now that it would be impossible to ignore such a good thing!”
