STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Hair-Pullingly Crammed

School ends up feeling like a game sometimes. How many exams can you stuff into one week? How many hours a night can you stay up studying without needing three cups of coffee the next morning? Let’s be realistic, the last thing you want to do is spend your week stuffed in jeans. Don’t belittle your leggings; you will definitely need them now more than ever.

Athletic clothing is dominating the industry and becoming incorporated into our daily lives. Going to class in sweats, for me at least, makes me feel sluggish and that reflects my performance in class. It’s crazy how influential our clothes are on our attitude. Going to class in my lululemon leggings is empowering and energetic because I know that I’m about to run about three miles (I’m working on it). Jeans are the last things on my mind during weeks like this. I’ve personally learned that there’s no way to survive weeks like these without blasting my Beats headphones on the elliptical.

Spice up your sweat-sesh with some in-your-face Calvin Klein’s. Flash that brand band because for one reason or another it makes us feel special. Grab a weird attention grabbing T-shirt. Be like Beyoncé and rep the oh-so lovable Kale .Get your motivation back by dressing like you can run for miles, because that is almost as pride fulfilling as getting an A on your exam. Our feet when we workout are the center of attention so make sure they are dressed the part! Sam Edelman makes sneakers that are trendy, affordable and comfortable so they will always be my favorite.

It’s not a little black dress, but workout clothes make you feel sexy. There’s something so empowering about wearing new a new pair of leggings and a matching sports bra. So for one week, don’t prioritize the perfect combination of jeans and clunky sweaters. Breathe, relax and then turn that all around at the gym. It’s a quick fix!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I’m on the track team for UD. So, my life is adidas. There’s no time to force yourself to pull yourself together and then drench yourself in sweat on days when you have four classes and a three-hour practice. Nothing looks better than confidence and I feel like that’s what will help you get through those stressful days.”
