STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Fallin' for Fuzz

Sporty, Posh or Baby Spice? Why not all three? This look encapsulates young, classy, and athletic flare all into one look. One of the most captivating pieces in this outfit, however, is the furry cardigan that gives the monochromatic look a charming, feminine texture. This simple and light, fuzzy, black cardigan rests on a black crop top that is paired with a high-waisted, white denim skirt and white adidas sneakers.

Ranging from soft and subtle (like the one featured above) to unapologetically big and fluffy, fuzzy layers are trending on the runway and on the street. I’ve been seeing all types of furry and textured sweaters being worn in Tallahassee, Florida, and I am personally loving it. I will take any chance I get to rock an article of clothing that mimics the soft qualities of my favorite blanket. Most of these shaggy jackets have structures similar to blazers, trench coats and peacoats, and come in soft colors that mirror the plush texture, such as cream, beige and light pink.

So, what’s the reason for this comfy trend? The harsh winters calling for none other than clothing copying our coveted comforters and pillows? The desire to look like the editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine while feeling like a Sunday spent in bed watching Netflix? Whatever the reason may be, this trend seems to be here to stay (and I am more than okay with it).

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Find a sweater or jacket that is warm and cozy enough to keep you safe from the cold all day, but cute enough to make you want to leave your bed and show it off.”
