STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Daisy Dukes

Spring will be here before we know it. In southeastern Pennsylvania, “spring” usually means 65-degrees one day and flurries the next day. You have to be prepared for all kinds of weather, so layering is a good thing. If you can find some way to combine winter and fall looks into a cohesive ensemble, you’re golden.

This Fashionista layered black tights under shorts so that her legs would stay warm. Her shorts have a lace trim on the hem to give her look more of a summer feel. On her feet, this Fashionista wears wedge cream colored sandals that complement her daisy covered mock turtleneck top and give her look a ‘70s vibe. The top balances thoughts of spring with warmth for some of winter’s last chilly days.

Her top really adds some spark to her outfit and is what your eyes immediately go to when you look at her. However, the black in the shirt and her tights prevent the look from being too loud. She finishes her look off with some round oversized sunglasses, geometric hoop earrings, a quirky “one inch” necklace and a sleek ponytail.

Spring can be wonderfully difficult for Fashionistas/os. This Fashionista’s look is spot on for this time of year. She manages to pull together pieces from winter and spring and coordinate them into one cohesive and totally fabulous look.
