As the weather gets warmer, popular styles like crop tops, maxi skirts and today’s subject, cutouts, can be seen on campus. Cutouts come in all types of shapes and forms. You can wear a shirt with cutouts, rompers with cutouts, dresses with cutouts and even bathing suits with cutouts. This coming summer is foreseeing many cutout bathing suits so do yourself a favor and get ahead of this year’s bathing suit trend. There are mesh cutouts or cutouts that give your admirers a little peak at exposed skin. However, beware Fashionistas, there is a limit to cutouts. It is easy to cross the line between trashy and classy when dealing with cutouts. One thing to keep in mind when dealing with cutouts are cutout backs. Cutouts in the back of shirts that may expose the bra you’re wearing. If you can go braless, try it. You can also purchase adhesive bras or strapless bras. In general, cutouts with mesh are safer but do not be afraid to take a risk.

This Fashionista is definitely making a statement with her cutouts. Her torn jeans give you a peak of skin but in an appropriate way that does not expose her in an indecent way. The jeans look like a DIY project which gives her a casual and creative look. For the creative Fashionistas, cutouts can become your DIY project. This Fashionista pairs her cutout jeans with a plain shirt and cardigan to make her jeans the statement piece. However, her wedge Converse shoes attract the eye and look super trendy.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I cut my jeans myself. At first they were just kind of tattered but then I made the holes bigger until it just became this. I think it looks cool and it keeps me cool. I love the cutout trend, especially in bathing suits. I will be sure to get one this summer.”
