STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Blue Hues

When transitioning from fall to winter in the city, it is always a hassle trying to put together the right outfit. Whether you are trying to go for a more professional look, impress a date, or maybe even just a chic casual look, there are many things to keep in mind. It is all about having a flow between each piece of clothing, you wouldn’t want to look tacky now, would you? Usually guys have more difficulties when it comes to this, but this Fashionisto displays exemplary abilities at putting together a great outfit, mixing his hues in a way that is easy on the eyes and quite appealing!

Denim on denim, or hues of blues always makes the perfect look. First of all, blue/navy is considered a neutral and somewhat diplomatic color, and secondly you can never go wrong with these colors. This Fashionisto’s outfit can be deceiving at first glance! One might think his button up is denim, yet taking a closer look at it you will notice its soft material and unique hue of blue. He pairs this outfit nicely with a darker colored simple cardigan and a slim fitted pair of ripped jeans, evenly folded at the ankles. His golden watch and camel colored shoes are the perfect contrast and classy accessories, adding style to the outfit.

Look out Fashionistos, this outfit makes a perfect first impression whether for a date or even something to wear to university. He paired it with square framed glasses, adding a witty edge to the look. This is definitely a go-to outfit, and a personal favorite of mine! The fact that any accessory can be added to it, from a nice scarf to a good pair of gloves (preferably leather) makes this outfit so great and suitable for all seasons year round. It can be dressed up and dressed down to suit any occasion.

It may be hard at times to stand out in a city full of diverse people, but with the right mindset and positive attitude you can make any outfit look great on you. Inspiration is all around; you just have to know where to look and what to appreciate. You will definitely run into many hues and many characters in fabulous New York City. It’s such a lovely adventure and experience!
