STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Black Never Goes Out Of Style

Those of you that know me personally or have been following my articles for a while know that black is my all time favorite color. It’s so classic, chic and perfect for any occasion, in my opinion. Going to a funeral? Wear black. Graduation party? Wear black. Girls night out? Wear black. You get the point. I know some people say that black is not appropriate for all occasions but I disagree. Also, let’s set the record straight: one can never wear too much black. In fact, the more the better. Therefore, it’s no wonder this Fashionista stuck out to me.

Today’s Fashionista has quite a bit of black in her ensemble and it creates such a stylish and sophisticated look. While most of the individual pieces of her ensemble are simple, they all look great paired together. Working to create a semi-dressy look, this ensemble is perfect for any occasion from a date night to a weekend outing. Her black high neck top is modest and she pairs a black, textured jacket on top that’s worn open. Her blue jeans look vibrant compared to all the black she has going on. She rolls the bottoms of her jeans to draw more attention to her shiny, black oxford shoes. Oxfords are a really comfortable, but trendy footwear option that I highly recommend you add to your shoe collection. As accessories to her outfit, this Fashionista has on a black floppy hat, black sunglasses and is holding a big handbag that is black and light pink. The pink in her bag softens up her look a bit.

If you are not into the idea of rocking a “groutfit,” take some tips from today’s Fashionista and simply incorporate black accessories into your look. Not only do black accessories go with just about any color or style of clothing, but they also make a look much more chic. Keeping black staple items in your wardrobe is always a good idea. Think: hats, sunglasses, necklaces, jackets ad shoes.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “A great pair of shoes can do so much for an outfit. Always wear terrific shoes.”
