STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: A Coachella State of Mind

When it finally reaches that glorious sunny and 75 degree weather we’ve been pining for all year, it seems that everyone comes from under the rock that is winter with their bright and sunny spring wardrobes. It’s my favorite time of year and considerably one of the best seasons for self expression. You’re able to incorporate your absolute favorite pieces from year round into the perfect outfit, sans a heavy jacket to cover it up. Throughout the most recent years, there has been so much style inspiration taken from the Coachella festival in California. It’s the first real sneak-peek of summer, and many milennials begin to embrace the whimsical style. The first thing that caught my eye about this Fashionista’s outfit was her attention to detail: a neutral palette with bold accessories and paired with funky jewelry is the perfect way to embrace spring.

Whenever music festival style comes to my mind, one of the first things I think about is flowy, structured tops. I love how this Fashionista styled her super feminine peplum top with a slouchy cardigan to create a super casual feel for her outfit. Peplum tops are perfect for anyone who wants to accentuate their waist with a little feminine flair. Since the weather is warming up quickly, wearing gray leggings instead of black soften the outfit without creating too harsh of a contrast against the outfit’s neutral palette.

With such a relaxed outfit, this Fashionista left a lot of room to add some bright and bold accessories. Statement necklaces are the perfect way to add a fun touch to any outfit, and this gold and silver piece is no different. It follows the relaxed tribal style, without grabbing the attention away from rest of the ensemble. Layer the big necklace with a long pendant for some visual interest, and top it off with a patterned headband for something fun. You can’t forget about the shoes; this Fashionista decided to take a style tip from the guys and wear her favorite pair of Timberland boots. This outfit is the perfect balance between feminine and a bit tomboy, which is the epitome of boho style.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: “Layering is my go-to for most looks: necklaces, sweaters, anything to add some fun visual elements while remaining comfy!”
