STYLE ADVICE: Nothin’ but Neutrals

As we come back from winter break fully replenished and relaxed, we search for spring and the warm weather to be right around the corner. Hold on to the cold for a bit longer because you’ll be needing your warmest boots and long parkas for a while.

If there’s one item that is a must in my winter wardrobe it’s scarves. Whether it’s a knit circle scarf or a plaid blanket scarf, I believe they are the perfect accessory to any outfit. Blanket scarves have recently emerged into the fashion scene everywhere. People are wearing them around the neck and even as ponchos, similar to this Fashionista. She is rockin’ a plaid scarf slightly draped over the shoulders to resemble a poncho.

Another trend this Fashionista is sporting is a beige turtleneck shift dress. Shift dresses are all the rage and are made for every season. The turtleneck part makes this dress warm and cozy for a typical day on campus. You can dress this up with a chunky necklace and strappy heels for dinner at a nice restaurant or a night on the town.

Boots are always a winter necessity, but this season it’s all about the ankle boots, or booties as many millennials call them. This Fashionista is wearing black heeled booties, and paired them with white knee-high socks to keep her legs a bit warmer in this harsh winter.

This Fashionista has added a few accessories to complete this perfect winter outfit. She has added a long gold necklace to complement the dress, and put her hair in a top-knot with a black velvet scrunchie to avoid the wind blowing her hair.

These simple tips will help you to stay warm and look good doing so throughout the rest of the season!
