Something Borrowed, Something Blue

The tradition for a bride on her wedding day is to wear something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue in order to ensure good luck, fertility, and prosperity. Like most matrimonies, this outfit has something borrowed and something blue. This outfit comes together to make a perfect match! It’s easy, simple, and perfect for warm weather.

1—Something borrowed. The shoes are the something borrowed. Thank you to my mom’s closet, which I’m always guilty of stealing from. I never know what new treasures I am going to find. After seeing these sandals, I decided that they were too cute not to steal! I love the brown camel color because it can be worn with so many different outfits, and it’s a classic neutral color. The lace-up detail adds a bohemian touch, while the studs give the sandal a little edge.

2—Something blue. My romper is the something blue. I love rompers for summer; they are so easy to slip into. I don’t have to suffocate in tight shorts or worry about the wind blowing up my dress. This romper from Francesca’s has the prettiest pattern. I’m obsessed with the ruffle detail on the sleeves and bottom of the shorts, especially because ruffles are so trendy this season. I’ve always loved ruffles because they are so feminine and girly. The blue color is so dreamy and beautiful with the pink in the pattern.

3—Details. The sandals match the Michael Kors crossbody bag. The neutral color can be worn with so many outfits, and it’s perfect for every season. The leather is soft and easy to clean. The bucket style is convenient because I can just toss in my wallet, sunglasses, and lip balm. I also love this similar bag from Mango. The basket weave detail is so cute!

4—Jewelry. I am wearing classic diamond stud earrings, a gold elephant pendant, and a gold ring. The necklace and the ring are my signature pieces. I wear them with almost everything. The elephant is from my grandma, and it’s a good luck charm. I had the jeweler design my ring years ago. I love wearing gold with my skin tone, and it especially looks good with a summer tan. The sunglasses I’m wearing are from Ray Ban.
