Yes, It is Possible to Achieve Glowy Skin—Here’s How

When I moved to the city for school, my skin took notice due to the mixture of dining hall food, city pollution, and late night studying. I realized that I needed a routine that would help combat this and leave my skin glowing. Here is my six-step skincare routine for glowing, dewy skin.

wash your hands

A glowing facial complexion starts with clean hands. There is no point in washing your face and going through a whole routine if your hands are dirty. The same way cleaning makeup brushes prevents breakouts when applying makeup, clean hands help achieve clean skin when washing.

facial cleanser

My Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser is my favorite everyday cleanser. It takes off makeup, helps remove any dirt and grime from the day, and hydrates your skin. Just add one pump of this cleanser, wet your face, scrub, then rinse it off!

toner

I added toner back into my routine a few weeks ago, and I’ve noticed great results. I use Mario Badescu’s Special Cucumber Lotion and squirt a quarter-sized amount onto a cotton round. Rub this on your face in an outwards direction. This step helps to remove any makeup or dirt that my face wash didn’t get.

sheet mask or serum

Next, I apply a face mask. I use face masks about once a week, but depending on your skin type and needs, you could do it more often. My favorite ones are from the Tony Moly brand. Just take it out of the package and leave it on your face for about 20 minutes (sometimes I go even longer). Remove and your skin will be glowing and fresh!

If sheet masks aren’t your thing, try adding a serum to your skin routine. I have the Glossier Super Pack and use one of the three serums each day. The Super Bounce Serum is very hydrating and is my go-to product to achieve dewy skin. It leaves your skin looking fresh and dewy! If my skin really needs it, I do a serum in addition to a mask for extra hydration.

moisturize

If I do a sheet mask, I usually wait a half hour or so before this final step. After the mask, I apply my Glossier Priming Moisturizer all over my face to hydrate my now dewy skin and help lock in the dewiness and glow from the mask.

rosewater spray

My final step to lock in the dewiness is rosewater spray. I spritz this on right after the routine and throughout the day. It’s a great afternoon pick-me-up for your skin to keep all the work from this skincare routine intact.
