5-Product Face—The Ultimate Midsummer Makeup

When it comes to summer makeup, simplicity is key. I love curating a selection of infallible products that I can turn to every summer and create a look in minimal time with little to no makeup skill; the fewer products the better! Nobody wants to wear pounds of makeup in the scorching heat anyway, so here is a roundup of my favorite five products to create a glowing, go-to look that beats the heat. Using just a few products, you’ll be ready to face the day in no time.

Concealer

To cover up blemishes and dark spots, Tarte Shape Tape concealer is an ideal pick. The formula is creamy and full coverage but does not crease and blends seamlessly into the skin.

Contour

Instead of using a powder contour on summer skin, I love the look of a cream contour. e.l.f.’s cream contour palette is super affordable and ideal for creating a dewy look that enhances your summer glow. The palette contains four shades—one highlight and three contour shades that are perfect for tan skin.

Bronzer

Nothing is more classic for achieving a summer glow than Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer. I typically dust this product all over my face for a sun-kissed look or use it to set my cream contour.

Blush

For summertime, I’m absolutely obsessed with this shimmery Milani blush called Corallina that doubles as a highlighter. I purchased it about a year ago, but just recently started using it. This peachy glow is absolutely gorgeous, especially on tan skin.

Mascara

Waterproof mascara is a summer makeup staple, but I especially love the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. It stays on all day, doesn’t flake, and is truly waterproof—I’ve tested it both by the pool and at the beach!

The Look

Overall, the combination of these products creates a barely-there, natural look that’s ideal for daytime and super low maintenance. Adding a bright lip or winged liner would certainly elevate this simple look!
