EARTH DAY DIY—Reuse, Reduce and be RAD

Sure, we try to remember to grab those reusable shopping bags and have one (or 14) Nalgene bottles somewhere in our apartment, but Earth Day is the day to really commit to helping the environment.

You can make our global home a better place while making your physical home beautiful as well with a recycling-inspired DIY! Even better—you already have all the supplies lying around your dorm room. With a little TLC, last month’s magazines are quickly transformed into personalized art!

Check out the easy steps below and get to crafting your way to a brighter environment and home.

DIY Supplies

-Pencils

-Cardboard/Construction Paper

-Scissors

-Old magazines

-Glue

Steps

1. Draw an outline on the construction paper for whatever letters you want to use. (We suggest the word RAD because, well, it’s rad.)

2. Cut along the lines until all the letters are cut out.

3. Grab a couple old magazines and cut out various sized strips of paper.

4. Glue the cut up strips onto your letters until they are completed covered.

5. Let dry completely before you display on your mantel, desk or above your bed.
