CollegeFashionista: When and why did you apply to be a Style Guru?

Norah: I applied to be a Style Guru for my first semester of sophomore year! It’s lead to amazing opportunities, like being featured in awesome projects such as the New Year’s video and working as  in office with the CF team!

CF: What has your favorite memory been with CollegeFashionista?

Norah: I’ve loved working with CF ever since I’ve started, but I would have to say one of my favorite memories was the Riverdale Premiere Party here in NYC! It’s always awesome seeing a ton of Style Gurus come together.

CF: What is your position now with CollegeFashionista?

Norah: I’m the in-house marketing intern for the CF team.

CF:  What would you say to someone who is thinking about applying to be a Style Guru?

Norah: I would tell them they HAVE to apply and give it a shot. They will love every second of their Style Guru internship (and then I’d send them over to the CF Instagram just to convince them a little more!)

CF: When and why did you apply to be a Style Guru?

Casey:  I applied to be a Style Guru in spring 2016. I’ve always loved fashion, and I was really drawn to the idea of mixing that love with my greatest love: writing. Also, I thought that it would be the perfect opportunity for me to practice creating content in a professional setting.

CF: What is your position now with CollegeFashionista?

Casey: I am currently a Lifestyle Editor, as well as a member of both the Social Media and Editorial Societies.

CF: What opportunities have you received because of CollegeFashionista?

Casey:  I have received advice and feedback from people currently working in the industry, as well as have been able to create a portfolio of work that I feel worthy of showing to a future employer. Not to mention, I have been able to connect with some of the raddest college students in the country.

CF:  What would you say to someone who is thinking about applying to be a Style Guru?

Casey:  You will not regret it. Being a Style Guru guarantees you new skills that you will not learn in a college class. Writing skills? Check. Photography skills? Check. Also there are so many professional hurdles that CF will guide you through, such as how to properly email your internship manager or how to speak with new people. And, it doesn’t hurt that CF has the best lineup of managers imaginable.

Eliza Huber, University of Iowa, Junior (Photo via @elizagracehuber)

CF: When and why did you apply to be a Style Guru?

Eliza: I applied during the summer before my sophomore year. I had just transferred to a new school and wanted to be a part of something that could help incorporate fashion into a school that didn’t have a lot of involvement with it. I had a couple of friends from different schools that had just started with CF and I thought why not apply?

CF: What has your favorite memory been with CollegeFashionista?

Eliza: By far the best CF experience I’ve ever had was when I interned at the office last summer. I met some of my best friends and got to see how things really work at CF.

CF: What is your position now with CollegeFashionista?

Eliza: I am a social media intern, so I curate content for the tumblr and Pinterest accounts and help her with engagement docs. I am also a Fashion Editor.

CF: What opportunities have you received because of CollegeFashionista?

Eliza: So, so many! Since I’ve done so many different positions at CF, I am so much more confident in interviews and more impressive to potential employers. I also got to participate in events with Henri Bendel, Spring, and Dove!

Rachel Park, University of California, Senior  (Photo via @therachelstory)

CF: When and why did you apply to be a Style Guru?

Rachel: I applied the fall semester of my sophomore year. I had a friend refer me to the application since she knew I was (and still am!) involved with a campus fashion magazine. I was so excited for the opportunity to write about what I love so I applied the very day I got the application!

CF: What has been your favorite memory with CF?

Rachel: My favorite memory so far is definitely the wonderful friends I’ve made along the way. It’s been so crazy to think that all the way across the nation, there’s a girl I can connect with and be actual friends with through this internship. I plan on meeting up with some of them when I go to NY for spring break!

CF: What is a lesson you have learned through your internship experiences with CF?

Rachel: One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned through CF is that passion and hard work won’t go unnoticed. I’ve really appreciated the faith and trust CF has for interns and the opportunities they give to the Style Gurus who go beyond what is required is a reflection of that!

CF:  What would you say to someone who is thinking about applying to be a Style Guru?

Rachel: Do it. If you’re interested in being a part of a community that preaches self-love, empowerment, kindness, and encouragement, then look no further. CF is a rewarding internship that not only is fun and creative, but also teaches practical professional skills along the way. What are you waiting for? Join the CF family. y’all!
