BEAUTY BAR: Seventies Style Bangs

From That 70’s Show to Coachella style, the 1970s are all the rage lately. However, if you’re not ready to reach for a pair of bell-bottoms or circular sunnies, but still want to imitate the decade, look no further than this retro beauty look.

Thickly cut straight across bangs have been on high trend alert since the new year. Not only are they super simple to style, but they look good with just about any outfit, adding a personal flair from the groovy ‘70s. To attain this hairstyle, simply ask your hairdresser for “full, thickly cut bangs”. However, if you are worried about jumping straight into the hairstyle, you could ask for “wispy, straight across bangs,” and get a few longer pieces on each side to frame the face, for a more transitional look.

Although this hairstyle would look perfectly vintage if paired with other ‘70s style clothing, it also creates a bold statement when styled with pieces from other decades.

Samantha Macs decided to wear a simple outfit which places her bangs as a chic focal point of her look. She is wearing an oversize denim jacket thrifted from Local Honey, a sweater from American Eagle Outfitters, a pair of black lightly distressed jeans from Topshop, socks from Free People and suede booties from Me Too. As for accessories, she is also wearing a statement crystal ring, and a friendship bracelet.

This Fashionista’s casual and urban style is perfect for a fast-paced day of classes or for wandering around the city. However, no matter where you go with your day or what you wear, this trending beauty look is sure to keep you looking RAD.
