BEAUTY BAR: Rainbow Glow

Trends in the beauty industry change just as much as the fashion industry. There are always new beauty trends and products coming out, and this year, without a doubt, is the year of the glow. Pretty much every makeup line is releasing new highlighters in a variety of colors and formulas. Every makeup artist and makeup enthusiast is raving about that gorgeous glow that highlighters create. Grab your sunglasses, because the glow is REAL right now, and I love it.

Highlighters commonly come in neutral shades such as pink, gold or champagne. While these colors are the most “wearable” shades, makeup brands and artists are getting creative and releasing highlighters in rainbow colors that are way outside of the box compared to the traditional shades. Colored highlighter shades include purple, blue, green and even rainbow. These highlighters are not for everyone, but if you are daring and confident in experimenting with color, then colored highlighters are for you! (Everyone should try these, though; it’s fun to experiment!)

This Fashionista is wearing the Milk Makeup Holographic Stick, which gives off a galactic, holographic, lavender glow. For her face, she used the Too Faced Born This Way foundation and concealer, contoured with the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil and the Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in the shade “Dazzle.” For her eyes, she used the Morphe Brushes 35O palette, Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz pencil, Jordana Cat Eye Liner and Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash mascara to keep her eye look simple, so the color of the highlighter really stands out. She is wearing a Talula graphic T-shirt, Refuge jeans, Tory Burch flip flops and Forever 21 sunglasses and purse.

If you are looking to grab some of these amazing colored highlighters, Jeffree Star’s line of Skin Frost™ highlighters are pigmented and come in some pretty crazy shades. Trust me, these guys will blind you. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Moon Child Glow Kit is also a beautiful palette with six pastel shades, which are to die for. This Fashionista shows how great rainbow colored highlighters look, and I’m ready to go buy more myself! (RIP my wallet!) Don’t be afraid to experiment with color; be a little crazy and wear it proudly! Have fun!
