BEAUTY BAR: Feeling Blue?

Let’s be honest, eyes are a pretty dominant feature on the face. There’s even a saying that states that eyes are the window to the soul. So if there’s so much fuss about them— fall in love at first sight, apple of my eye, keep your eyes on the prize—you might as well make them look good. Yet, it can be easy to get stuck in an everyday routine of quick eyeliner and mascara, or maybe just a sweep of eyeshadow and mascara. Even worse, eyes can be totally overdone. I know I get scared to experiment with my eyes and especially with color. However, I was instantly drawn into this Fashionista’s eyes, and thankfully she showed me her ways with color.

Working color onto the top lid is something normally done, but this Fashionista carried a bold line of metallic blue as eyeliner to show off her brown eyes beautifully. It can be tricky to properly nail this trend because working with color in such a bold way has the potential to look a little clown-like. By keeping the color liner the only thing on her lid aside from the mascara, it allowed for the liner to hold all the attention without being too gaudy or showy. This Fashionista also knew what color worked best with her brown eyes: blue. So if you have green eyes, maybe try out a nice plum. If you have blue eyes, a dark gold, bronze line would work perfectly.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? Getting this look is simple. Go to your local drug store, MAC or Ulta and grab a color eyeliner. Keep the rest of the look simple with mascara and a rosy blush.
