Spring means allergies, summer means too hot and winter means saying hello to the frozen death march to class; but yellows, oranges, and reds mean oh my! (as Dorothy would say!). Fall is the season for Fashionistas. It paints the campus in a wash of color. Take some of that color inspiration from the leaves and put it on your face! This Fashionista does just that with her makeup and simplistic outfit.
The Fashionista outshines the leaves with a bold red lip perfectly offset by copper eyelids which is subtle enough not to out stage the lip. One might think pairing oranges and reds together is a no-no, but the orange sweater with the pearl button accents perfectly accentuates the Fashionista’s lip. The plaid under the sweater paired with dark wash jeans and Sperry Top-Siders is classic prep, making this look go from college campus to yacht party easily. The eyelids are a light copper, not quite penny status but enough to make the eyes sparkle. Different reds work for different skin tones, but this Fashionista chose a red that perfectly accented her porcelain skin tone. She finished off the look with a vintage cross-body that incorporates both the black and brown in the outfit. However, the outfit does not pull one’s eye from the Fashionista’s lip and eye combination.
What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? A bold red matte lipstick or lipstain; everyone’s reds will be different as you have to find a red that works for you! Finish the look off with a subtle gold lid. Other than that keep makeup minimalistic as the real emphasis should be on the lip.
