BEAUTY BAR: Black or Burgundy?

Often times, people are under the impression that they can’t do anything with black hair. Unless you bleach it, you are kind of stuck with it, but that is so not true. In my opinion, black is one of the most mysterious hair colors. The subtlety of what you can do with it is what makes it special!

In this look, this Fashionista is rocking a black lob (AKA a long bob), but not just regular black locks. When the sun catches the colors of her tresses, you can see some deep burgundy hues. Gorgeous? I know. Hair like this is to die for and you can style it any which way you want. Her tips are a little more sun-kissed than the rest of her hair with some rusty blonde shades, but those extra colors add dimension to her hair, and what’s a better way to start this semester than with the ideal winter-to-spring transition look. And, if you live in Texas, you can always count on the sun to shine so that everyone catches a glimpse of the fifty shades of your hair.

To top it all off, she has a great sense of style. She is giving us some serious vintage vibes with her oversize denim jacket and Calvin Klein bralette—if you don’t have one, you should definitely pay a visit to Urban Outfitters ASAP. Her knit socks add a little pop of color to her ensemble and compliment the burgundy in her hair. Another reason to opt for this reddish hair tone: everyone, and I mean everyone, looks good in burgundy. This deep tone of red is easy to match with, whether it be clothes, shoes, jewelry, or even makeup.

So, if you are that girl (or guy) that is blessed with black hair, dare to spice up your look with a shade of deep red and don’t be afraid. It’s so easy, you could do it on your own with hair color from your nearest drugstore (she did!). Repeat: Black is not boring.
