BEAUTY BAR: A Dip That’s Better than Guacamole

When you hear the word dip your taste buds might start calling out for some flavor filled favorites, like salsa or guacamole, but did you ever notice that your hair might be calling out for something too? Now, I don’t mean that your hair is asking to be dipped in these spicy favorites, but it could be wanting to switch up its current style with some dipping of its own.

Since we are now officially in spring, you might feel the need to brighten up your look to match these recently sunny days. A great way to do this is to have some dipped hair. Dipped hair is when you dye only the tips of your hair a different color. The dye can be as natural as a brown or blonde, or as crazy as bight neon colors. The choice is up to you! One of the best things about having dipped hair is that you can easily experiment with colors. Since it doesn’t require you to dye your whole head, it is a lot less expensive, time-consuming and nerve-wracking, therefore, allowing you to switch it up more often to fit whatever style you want to try out. The pop of color adds just the right amount of a fun and adventurous edge to your style that will attract more people than Chipotle’s famous guacamole.

This Fashionista decided to brighten up her look with some pink dipped hair. Adding this rich pink color really puts a fun, quirky twist on her cute and simple look. She made sure her hair color popped by wearing basic colors for the base of her outfit, like the black shirt, blue boyfriend jeans and white Converse All-Stars, and then by adding an element that had bright colors which blended perfectly with the pink of her hair. The element she chose to add was a whimsical patterned pink and blue bomber jacket. With a look like this she is not only brightening up her style, but she is also brightening up everyone’s day around her by being able to feel confident and express her fun, adventurous and sweet personality.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To complete this look, make an appointment at your local salon or buy a box of colored hair dye and dye your ends yourself. If you are not sure which color you want, you can buy a temporary hair dye first that will wash out in a couple days. Don’t be afraid to just go for it! Remember, if you ever get tired of it, or don’t like it you could always just chop it off during your next haircut.
