Graduation time is here. We all wonder for four (or maybe more) years where our lives will take us after we walk across that stage. So far, I’ve heard a lot of “I’m in the interview process” or “I’m moving home to take a gap year.” I’m getting a little nervous about the competition for recent graduates. However, this Fashionista has opened my eyes to a fabulous program that’s a great opportunity for those of us who are oh-so fashionably inclined. Jenn Collins has been accepted into the Luxury and Fashion Management Masters Program at Savannah College of Art and Design. This is an innovative program that prepares Fashionistas to work in the challenging, ever-evolving fashion industry. I personally can’t wait to find out what Jenn accomplishes after receiving her prestigious degree!

Name: Jenn Collins

Role: Graduate Student

CollegeFashionista: What first peaked your interest in the fashion industry?

Jenn Collins: My interest in the fashion industry started with my passion for shoes. When I was 15, I fell in love with a pair of Michael Kors boots and after that I started to pay more attention to what was in style.

CF: What are you most looking forward to during your time in this program?

JC: I’m really excited to be able to combine my interest in design and corporate fashion into one program. This program allows me to take design electives as well as business courses so I can learn many different aspects of the fashion industry

CF: What in fashion most inspires you?

JC: The freedom of expression is what inspires me most about fashion. One day you may feel like wearing flirty colors and patterns and then next you can change up your image and wear a darker palette with leather giving yourself an edgier look. In a way you get to know someone a little bit just by seeing what they’re wearing and how they accessorize.

CF: What is your dream career once you receive your master’s degree?

JC: My dream career is to be the creative director of a luxury brand or high-end magazine. I want to have a hand in the image of the company and what products represent that brand.

Learn More: I’m sure we will see a lot more from Jenn Collins in the coming years, but to find out more about this awesome Masters Program be sure to check out SCAD’s website.
