ALL IN THE DETAILS: You Can Never Have Too Many Layers

I think one of the most difficult things when it comes to styling is finding something that will work for you and embody your personality. Along with this comes the constant setting up of limitations as to what we wear based on what we believe will “fit” us.

As an admirer of new styles, I naturally was captured by this Fashionista’s overall sense of style. This Fashionista is wearing a lace frock over a black dress paired with an essential messenger bag, a wide brim hat and some very retro statement shades. She is seen sporting something most people would describe as goth, but it is much more than meets the eye. In a way, goth would be a generalization when it comes to describing this particular sense of style. It would not be giving credit where it is due.

Strega and Dark Mori are the three words that came up when asked how this Fashionista would describe her style.  Now, you may be thinking, what is Strega and Dark Mori? In the simplest terms, think of what the “modern witch” would wear and that’s what Strega and Dark Mori would be. However like any type of fashion style out there, there are particular elements that come together to make it unique. This fusion of styles is primarily composed in monochrome black or with touches of some kind of flat color. They also both use a lot of layering of clothing.

This in particular is what really stood out about the fusion of two styles embodied by this Fashionista. This outfit incorporated a seamless layering of different textures along with the addition of statement pieces. Although, she is wearing all black each piece of her outfit comes together to emphasize a depth of detail without the adding of colors or patterns. I really loved how the only elements of color used were her purple lips and retro shades. These slight pops of color really tied into the overall outfit and made it her own.
