ALL IN THE DETAILS: Spring Into Bold Colors

Ever since I was little, I have always enjoyed Easter Sunday. My mother would put my sister and I in matching Easter dresses and Easter shoes. We would go to church and see all the other little kids in bright, pastel-colored outfits with bows and flowers in their hair. This past Easter reminded me of those childhood days as I admired all the beautiful pastel, puffy dresses. So when I came across this Fashionista, the colors she wore reminded me of Easter. They were so colorful, light and springy. Although the top is very bright, it does not take away from the patterned scarf. That is what drew me to her outfit. I feel like people are afraid to mix statement accessories with other statement pieces in fear of it looking a bit too much. I think otherwise!

Spring is a time to bust out the colors after such dreary months of winter. Why not wear a colorful statement piece, such as this scarf to get you in the spring mood. This scarf is thick enough to keep you warm, but not too bulky. It is still a bit nippy in Wisconsin and a scarf like this is a nice touch on those chilly days. What I really love about this scarf is how versatile it is. It is two-sided and can be paired with multiple colors. The colors that this Fashionista is wearing complements this lightweight top so well. The peekaboo of light blue matches the top and makes this piece look so springy. This makes the orange not so striking, but blend in with the outfit. The key is wearing a scarf with one or two colors that matches the top.

This Fashionista completes the look with dark wash jeans and brown booties. A perfect ensemble to keep the focus on the scarf. Now you can stay warm and look ready for the springtime.

How To: Do not be afraid to experiment with a bold scarf and a bold top. Both pieces can work if you make sure there are similar colors that go together and one of the pieces is just a solid color. You can either have a solid top and patterned scarf or a patterned top with a solid scarf. Both would look great!
