ALL IN THE DETAILS: Pulling It Together

Ever have those days when no matter what outfit you put on, something just doesn’t look right? Your look doesn’t feel totally perfected, but you’re not sure what it needs. Fashionistas/os, when this happens to you, the most important thing to remember is to accessorize!

Personally, I’m a huge fan of accessories. They easily turn a generic T-shirt and jeans combination into a personality-clad outfit that will turn heads. They can change the look of your outfit as well; combat boots and a bunch of studded jewelry pieces scream rocker-chic, while a floral scarf and flats are more feminine and whimsical. Accessories can help pull a look together and make it feel more complete.

This Fashionista knows how to accessorize to a tee. While her bright, floral dress is pretty and girly, it’s her accessories that pull her look together. By keeping each accessory a consistent tan color, her look is more cohesive and looks more put together. The braided belt helps give her look more shape by accentuating her waist, and sandals provide a casual flair. Her large purse furthers that appearance, and her small ring provides a bit of sparkle. Finally, this Fashionista’s chic aviator sunglasses are not only functional, but also provide a cool air to the look.

This Fashionista used a consistent color scheme and an overall casual tone within her accessories to give her dress a cool, carefree appearance. While this is totally perfect for her daytime look, she could take the look into night by swapping her belt for a black one, and substituting black heeled booties for her sandals. By accessorizing her dress the way she did, she was able to give her versatile dress the look she wanted.

You can easily make any ensemble looking fresh and on point with the addition of a few accessories. No outfit will be too simple!

How To: This Fashionista kept her look cohesive by utilizing a consistent color throughout her accessories. This is a great way to ensure you have a more put together look! Choose a neutral tone to help make sure the accessories will match whatever you’re wearing.
