This fall season, you should expect an influx of chunky scarves, baggy sweaters, flannels, denim and you’ll never guess… leather! Leather is coming in hot this season, literally. Daring and sophisticated, the leather jacket adds character to any outfit. Originally used for its protective properties, leather is most associated with subcultures such as greasers, motorcyclists and police, all of which have a tough and intimidating connotation. There’s something official about leather that makes a person feel powerful when wearing it. I mean, there must be a reason why leather is used in so many iconic movies, such as Terminator, The Matrix, and Fight Club, right? No one messes with the person wearing leather.
When I asked this Fashionisto what about the leather jacket made him feel most confident, he responded, “Leather just has a feel, a look and a scent that makes me feel ready for what ever the day throws me.” Well, that’s what confidence is all about, isn’t it? Confidence is all about feeling, no, knowing you can handle anything, no matter how unexpected or negative it might be.
This fall season I dare you to be edgy and rock a leather jacket. Strut down the streets and see if you stand taller, because you know you can take anything life throws your way!
How To: Leather has the ability to transform a boring outfit to one fit for a night out on the town. Work a rugged T-shirt from the back of your closet and some worn out jeans in the privacy of your own home, throw on the leather jacket before you leave the house, and own it!
