ALL IN THE DETAILS: Leather Blues

Today, leather jackets have become a fashion staple piece. Leather jackets date back to the early 1900s during the first world war. Mick Farren talks about these jackets in his book The Black Leather Jacket. and many wore them as a safe and protective outerwear. Not only were they worn in the military but many major companies like Harley Davidson started adapting to them. Down the line, in the 1970s and 1980s, rock bands even started sporting leather jackets. Then in the 1990s, they were finally brought into the fashion world by supermodels like Kate Moss. Finally, as you can see on this Fashionista, leather jackets have a permanent spot in this 21st century, too.

The best thing about leather jackets is they go with absolutely anything. This Fashionista styled her leather jacket with a white, cropped tank top underneath. For her pants, she has on navy blue high-waisted jeans that went perfectly with her outfit. For shoes, she wore black delicate strapped heels that give off a classy but simple elegance and match the black in the faux leather jacket. During the fall, you don’t need to always be bundled up so the beginning of fall is the best time to pull off heels like these.

Since the leather jacket is such a neutral color, the pop of the blue aquamarine purse shines through. The color is so bright that all the focus wanders to the purse. It’s also big enough to keep some books or papers in, instead of sporting a backpack. Besides the shoes and purse, dainty accessories top this Fashionista’s outfit off. Around her neck she has a gold layered half moon necklace with a circle pendent, and is wearing stud earrings.

How To: Want to rock this look, too? All you need is a leather jacket and a bright, fabulous purse. Neutral tones set this outfit but a bright colored purse makes this outfit pop. Don’t forget those accessories and your favorite pair of heels.
