ALL IN THE DETAILS: I Fancy Your Fabrics

Detention for details? Guess I’m staying late after school. This stylish gal gives the classic schoolgirl look a little ‘tude. Leather jackets are so hard to stay away from. Black, tan or burgundy, I’ll take them all! We all have at least one, and we’re all addicted. So how can we spruce up from the usual leather grunge?

Well, for starters, I’ve got to say one of my favorite things to is to mix fabrics and materials. It adds another texture to outfits and sometimes an unexpected twist. Especially during fall, when there is so much color from the changing leaves and the crispness in the air, it’s a perfect time to try it before the snowflakes arrive. Here, this gal paired her black leather jacket from NASTY GAL with a tweed skirt from Aritzia and a light blouse, three different textures, yet they work so well off one another. Leather (vegan or not) is also amazing in the fall into soft winter and gives a slight cool toughness to all outfits (a.k.a can make your skirt look less girly).

While the sun here in New York is setting sooner and sooner, break out the sunglasses when you still can! To top off this edgy schoolgirl look, are blue Dean Style Polette sunglasses.

How To: If you are tired of rocking your shades already or need another excuse to break out your recent purchases of scarves, try a patterned or bold colored scarf. Some of my go-to spots for scarves, in particular, cozy oversized blanket scarves, are Aritzia and Zara. How are you going to try mixing fabrics?
