ALL IN THE DETAILS: Holy Chic! Pardon My French!

Spring in the city brings about a whole new wave of fashion. That means it’s finally time to break out that killer pair of open toe shoes that have been hiding in the cave you call your closet all winter. Perfect weather means perfect outfits and a ton of mini Carrie Bradshaws roaming the streets. Welcome, to the marvelous month of May!

According to Audrey Hepburn, “Paris is always a good idea,” and I don’t think we can argue with that! It’s no secret that a good portion of our American style is inspired by the super-chic Parisians. In fact Parisian related symbols and sayings tend to cover our graphic T-shirts, handbags and endless pieces of merchandise we know and love. So, if you aren’t one of the lucky individuals who get to play in Paris this spring, why not live vicariously through their fashion?! As you can see, this Fashionista is a prime example of that.

First off, let me just emphasize the fact that black truly never goes out of style. No matter the season, this super-chic color is always a solid yes! Picking black for spring may throw some for a loop who are expecting to see an endless sea of pastels and pink; but as always the perfect outfit is all about balance. However, if you choose to do black on black, accessories are your best friends. Spice it up a little and let the world know that you are both chic and springy! The details of this Fashionista’s outfit do just that. She flaunts the ultimate, chic, sophisticated, “have your life together” outfit for a spring day.

Her Parisian “Comme ci, Comme ça.” (translation: neither very good nor very bad; so-so) graphic T-shirt from Forever 21 is perfectly complemented by an A-line skater skirt from H&M. Depending on the mood of Mother Nature, adding a lightweight tweed jacket is a great touch for a cooler day, just like Jackie O.! Once we are past the basic pieces, it is time for the best part: the accessories. This outfit is clearly completed by these fabulous and functional fuchsia heels from DSW by BCBGeneration. To match the pop of color on her feet, this Fashionista added a rose tinted, crystal faceted necklace by Stella & Dot to complete the look.

How To: For starters, consider taking a more casual approach on this outfit. Keep it in your comfort zone. Not much of a skirt person or faced with a cooler spring day? Try swapping the skirt with your favorite pair of fitted jeans, keeping all other variables constant.
