ALL IN THE DETAILS: Bringing West to the East

I don’t know about you, but I have been obsessing over the recent western belt trend and this Fashionista proves that no matter what state you are from, it’s still okay to rock a little western flair. While all of us wish we could pull off the cowgirl-chic look by effortlessly throwing on a pair of flared suede pants or a cool fringe skirt, those pieces don’t fit every body type so easily. Lucky for us, a belt with a big, detailed, silver buckle is the perfect piece to add a western feel to your outfit while still complementing your figure.

These belts are unlike most; although any belt adds a unique detail to an outfit, western belts can be worn with many different things, in many different ways. This Fashionista wears her western belt with a pair of black, distressed denim shorts, a light blue Bardot top, and a floppy hat to top it off.  Paired with simple leather sandals and a black suede choker, this outfit exhibits bringing the west to the east perfectly.

The thing I love most about this accessory is the versatility. Not only do they come in different colors, thicknesses and buckles, but they can practically be worn with anything in your closet. If you are going somewhere more casual, you can throw on a thick black western belt with your favorite skinny jeans and plain white T-shirt to add personality to staple pieces. To elevate your ensemble for a nicer occasion, throw on your favorite dress with a skinnier, warmer toned belt and a pair of leather booties. All I have to say is I am definitely taking my western belts with me on my next trip and I definitely recommend that you do the same!

How To: Give your look a western flare, fit for any occasion, by pairing your belt with your favorite staple pieces and matching silver or gold jewelry to achieve instant cowgirl-chic.
