Usually as I am walking through campus I see people bundled up for the below freezing temperatures. Everyone is wearing his or her thickest winter coats, snow boots and hats, attempting to stay somewhat warm. This time of year, many students choose comfort and warmth over all else. For the time being, they ignore the new fashion trends and latest styles to simply stay warm. So you can imagine that this Fashionisto caught my eye when I saw him strutting through campus in a suit and tie.
I asked him why he was so dressed up walking to class. He responded, “I am a part of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity Inc. I dress up every Tuesday because it is something that my fraternity agreed upon.”
This Fashionisto is wearing gray slacks with a simple white button-down. He pairs this with a black suit coat, which is a staple piece in every man’s wardrobe. What makes the whole outfit for me though is the bow tie. His bow tie is striped yellow and black. This bow tie adds a fun vibe to a professional look and allows him to show off a little personality. In my opinion, bow ties are coming back and more men should wear them.
How To: What’s that motto? Look good, feel good! Spice it up this week and get a little more dressed up than usual. You will be surprised how good it makes you feel when you look nice. You don’t have to go all out but if you want to dress up and outfit while still keeping it fun add a bow tie!
