Living in New York City, it can sometimes be hard to stand out in a crowd. Whether it’s walking on the street, waiting for the subway or running that quick internship errand, it’s important to dress to impress. Before I moved here, I always imagined folks in the city dressing very suave and being well polished. However, closing in on about three months of exploring the city endlessly, each neighborhood and industry has its own look. The best part about being involved in the fashion industry is that there is a plethora of styles to choose from. Polished CEO, laid back-chic and bohemian are some styles, to name a few. On that note, this Fashionista takes the cake for the ultimate comfort.
With a casual color palette, she decides to make the detail in the fabrics speak. It is obvious that this Fashionista decided to have her white tunic dress be the staple piece of this look. The top’s flowing effect is hypnotizing along with the reconstructed sections that add a little bit of edge. With a closer look, the reconstructed pieces don’t end there. The fringe detail throughout the garment adds a little bit of feminine edge. Trying not to make the ensemble too over the top, this Fashionista opted for a pair of olive skinny jeans that have a textured detail of its own. A great top and bottom deserves an awesome shoe, and this Fashionista did not disappoint. She opted for a comfy pair of black wedges with a braided rope detail on the heel. Keeping the accessories to a minimal, her mixed meal long necklace, as well as the gold accents in her shorter necklace and watch, add a sweet note to the look.
Summertime is supposed to be easy and breezy, which means tight constricting clothing is a no-go. Walk in the footsteps of this Fashionista and experiment with colors and textures, while making look as effortless and RAD as possible.
How To: Is the weather where you live as unpredictable as it is in the Midwest? For those over-the-top humid days, choose a free flowing textured dress, but ditch the pants. Accompany this ultra laidback look with a clog or strappy sandal for the ultimate bohemian vibe.
