ALL IN THE DETAILS: Blizzard Boho

With March coming in like a lion and out like a lamb, it is sometimes hard to know how to dress for the changing weather. The transitioning of seasons sometimes requires putting away the heavy sweaters and breaking out some items that bring a little life to the drab weather around campus. To stand out against the melting snow banks, it is sometimes necessary to add a little color to a typically neutral wardrobe.

This Fashionista begged for spring when she wore her loose bohemian pants and vintage denim button-up. With thrift store finds being a major trend coming up for this spring, everything in this Fashionista’s ensemble was purchased at a thrift shop for less than 10 dollars a piece! By taking multiple unique warmer weather pieces into the colder weather, this Fashionista managed to make herself stand out in a crowd while expressing her personal style.

With the optional tan coat to throw on when the wind blows a little too hard, she completed her look by adding on some statement necklaces and a pair of retro sunglasses. No one could outshine this Fashionista. This look is easily transferable to Fashionistos looking to get into the boho world of thrift shopping. It is all about baggy bottoms, loose outerwear and tight tops. With just the right accessories, such as reflective sunglasses or even a slick denim jacket, any college guy can take on the retro look.

Details, such as a combination of uncommon textures or even just a piece of interesting jewelry, can take any look from basic to something of real innovation. The key to this look is to find signature separates that may not all be seen as pieces that can typically go together. This is not only something that can be done by someone who is on budget, but it can also be used as a form of self-expression even when the weather isn’t so hot!

How To: Wondering when is too soon to break out some spring classics? Prints such as floral or light wash denim can easily be transitioned into winter by pairing them with signature pieces that not only keep you warm, but also lighten up your look in an instant. Give some unconventional pairings a shot, throw on some cool shades and you’re ready to go!
