ALL IN THE DETAILS: Aztec Afternoon

School’s out and summer has begun, bringing three long months of sun and sand! Lounging poolside or floating the river, summer is all about finding ways to beat the heat and following all the trends that come along with it.

Of these hot weather fashions, one of my favorites has been the abundance of tribal prints both on and off the runway. This Fashionisto caught my eye for the Aztec print along the hemline and the pocket of his tank top. By having a bold print among the details instead of across the entire shirt, he is able to emit a subtlety to his style that is effortlessly cool. The aquamarine base is a masculine take on the ever-popular mint and teal as well as providing a refreshing change from the typical menswear colors without breaking into neon or pastels. The white print on the pocket stands out against its black background, made even more present by the black shorts and shoes encompassing the rest of this Fashionisto’s outfit.

As a finishing touch, this look is completed by one last detail: a black skeleton watch. Offering a look at the intricate clockwork inside, skeleton watches are often self-winding and are perfect for anyone with a curiosity of the inner workings of what makes the world tick.

As the temperature rises, this Fashionisto knows how to beat the heat in style. According to him, anytime the sun is out, so are the bro tank tops. And there is no better tank top than one that can keep you cool on a hot Aztec afternoon.

How To: Pick one patterned piece to be your focal point and pair with solid basics in the same color scheme.
