ALL IN THE DETAILS: Accessories Matter

Whenever I’m on campus there are always the very flashy and trendy students that work hard on putting their outfits together every day. A lot of times, it’s easy to just look at these types of people for fashion inspiration. Sometimes, though, I find that simple and effortless looks end up looking more authentic. I could tell that this Fashionista’s style was laid-back and comfortable as soon as I saw her.

In a sense her outfit is very simple, but it is the details within it that make it noteworthy.

She chose a pair of jeans and a loose cardigan and built her outfit from there. The distressed boyfriend jeans and loose cardigan make the Fashionista’s look trendy while maintaining a sense of comfort. Although sometimes beauty is pain and we often wear things that may not be comfortable but are cute, it’s okay to compromise every once in a while, especially when coming to school.

Let’s face it, a hat is ALWAYS a good thing when it comes to second or third day hair. I can say that baseball hats are my best friend on lazy hair days with no shame. This Fashionista took full advantage of her fedora to take her outfit to the next level. The hat distinguishes her from anyone else just wearing jeans and a cardigan. Not to mention that it contrasts great with her hair color.

Boho ring sets have been quite the trend in the past year, especially around Coachella time. I have seen many people who don’t quite know the balance between just enough rings and too many rings. This Fashionista balanced the size and amount of rings perfectly to look tasteful as opposed to tacky. Her rings along with her bracelet and necklace give her outfit a little something extra.

This Fashionista proves that accessories can make all the difference when you’re putting an outfit together.

How To: First, grab your favorite pair of distressed boyfriend jeans and a loose cardigan. Now all you have to do is accessorize to your liking. To follow this Fashionista’s style, a fedora and sunglasses are a must. Lastly, add a set of boho rings and booties and your outfit is ready!
