ALL IN THE DETAILS: A Neutral Spring

March 20th, 2015 at 2:00am

Although it is not officially spring just yet, the new season is right around the corner. Spring is the time for both Fashionista/os to shed their black monochromatic looks and to emerge into more colors and prints. Pastel color pieces and accessories are a few of my favorite things about spring fashion. However, it never hurt anyone to practice putting together a spring look so that they are ready when the season arrives.

This Fashionisto took advance on this warm day by collaborating multiple pieces that made for a classic spring look. He wore a white button-up shirt and left the top button, unbuttoned for a more casual look. He paired his shirt with a yellow-tan trench jacket that stopped right above his wrist. I thought the color of his trench jacket was a great way to rock a pastel color that was not too bright for the time of the year. This Fashionisto then sported a chrome silver watch that had a light brown strap. Finally he opted for a pair of relaxed fit jeans, loafers and a dark brown tote bag to carry his laptop.

Overall, I really enjoyed this look and thought this Fashionisto put together a perfect spring look. I enjoyed that he focused his look on how things fell and centered on and around his wrist. I also liked that although his trench incorporated a bit of color, he still managed to make neutral colors into a spring look.

How To: Not sure how to tackle spring fashion just yet? Just remember less is more! No need to oversaturate yourself in pastels. Pair a plain shirt with a bright jacket in order to look the part. Add a dark pair of jeans with a great watch or a cool hat to add to the look. Ultimately, spring is about new beginnings, so do not be afraid to experiment with colors!
