STYLE GURU STYLE: Cheetah Power

Ever since The Cheetah Girls sang their way into my heart when I was nine years old, cheetah print has been a favorite of mine. There’s nothing that makes me feel more fun, flirty, powerful and feminine than cheetah print! When I saw the alice + olivia pre-fall 2015 show, I immediately knew I would be recreating some of these looks. I absolutely loved all the skirts, cheetah print and different materials.

After checking out this show, I instantly knew how to make an outfit of my own. I started with a simple black skater skirt. Cheetah pairs perfectly with black, but allows the attention to stay on the print. Then I put on my favorite cheetah shirt that’s made of a light and flowy material, which is great for warm days in spring or summer. The shirt is slightly see-through and has a few buttons, so I wore a black lace bandeau underneath.

Accessories were present in the alice + olivia show, but they were kept as an understatement to the outfit itself. As usual, I wanted to wear a statement necklace. I chose one in colors complementing the rest of the outfit to blend it in and added a matching bracelet. In this particular show, shoes were a major piece in the outfit, but they just weren’t practical for me. As a student, I’m constantly walking, so extravagant boots were not ideal. I took advantage of the warm weather and wore a pair of neutral sandals with a hint of sparkle.

A girl cannot go wrong with cheetah print. No matter the occasion, cheetah can work. Take some inspiration from my look or the looks from alice + olivia and create your own cheetahlicious outfit.
