CollegeFashionista Spring Break City Guide—Tulum

Brought to you by American Eagle Outfitters

Mexico has always been a hot spot (pun intended) for college spring breakers. Our favorite destination south of the border is Tulum. If you are looking for a warm weather spring break with all the charm of Mexico minus the mega clubs and rowdy pool parties, this beach town is for you.

There is a relaxed and bohemian vibe to this city, so be sure to dress the part. The American Eagle Outfitters spring collection is very boho-inspired. From their embroidered tops and tanks to their hi-rise festival shorties, you’ll find the perfect pieces to bring out your inner free spirit.

Now that you’ve figured out what to wear, here are our top picks of what to do while vacationing in Tulum!

Hidden gem: Kun at Amansala is the best yoga instructor ever. Set up a private lesson with a group of friends in their beachfront yoga studio. You will leave feeling zen and grounded.

Eating: Hartwood is as “sceney” as this beach town gets, but is still truly a great meal for dinner. La Zebra’s lunch is a great spot in town. It’s yummy and great place to lounge on the day beds while snacking on chips and guacamole.

Shopping: Tulum is not necessarily known for their shopping, but the hip boutique hotel Coqui Coqui sells amazing perfumes. In case you forgot a swimsuit or happen to hate yours while there (which happens a lot), check out Shalom.

Day lounge: Posada Margherita is great for people-watching and action during the day. Their homemade pasta is pretty rad as well. Definitely the best spot to cheat on your Spring Break diet.

Sightseeing: Be sure to check out the Cenotes, which are fresh water sinkholes throughout the Tulum area. Also, take a 45-minute trip to Playa del Carmen and hang at Mamita’s Beach Club for a dose of traditional spring break madness.
