STYLE ADVICE: Fashion Meets the Streets

Southern California is known for the booming street wear culture that has this generation of youth subcultures lined up for hours on end in hopes of getting the most coveted item of the season. This unique culture is constantly evolving and influenced by the media through celebrities like Kanye West and Kylie Jenner.

This Fashionisto is supporting the ever so popular street wear brand, Supreme. Although these items come with a costly price tag, people can’t seem to get enough of them. This brand can be spotted on students all around campus. It’s amazing to see a street wear brand collaborate with a high end fashion brand like Louis Vuitton. It’s a new era of clothing where fashion meets the streets.

One of my favorite ways to style a street wear look is to give it a sporty edge. This Fashionisto is rocking a Supreme football jersey paired with distressed jeans from H&M. For a more affordable option, you can pair these distressed jeans with a Nike or Adidas shirt. It’ll give you that sporty flare that works so well with street wear fashion.

To add to the athletic look, this Fashionisto paired the Supreme jersey and distressed, ripped jeans with black and white Nike Flyknits. With the breathable jersey material, loose pants and easy to walk in shoes, not only is this look edgy and sporty, but it is also extremely comfortable. It’s perfect for walking to your classes in the SoCal heat. Speaking of heat, sunglasses are a must in Riverside, California because the sun never seems to go away. To finish this look, this Fashionisto rocked Ray-Ban sunglasses.

Street wear is an arising subculture around the world, especially in Southern California, that is constantly evolving due to pop culture icons and fashion-forward trends. All in all, it is a new community of the younger generation where fashion meets the streets.
