STYLE GURU BIO: Krystal Taylor

My name is Krystal Taylor and I’m from the Mardi Gras capital—New Orleans, Louisiana. I’m currently a sophomore at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette majoring in communications with a concentration in public relations. The great thing I’ve learned about studying communications is that it allows you the opportunity to learn skills that’ll help you in whichever media-related field you choose to pursue.

After I graduate from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, I plan on moving to the city that never sleeps (psst… in case you didn’t know, I’m talking about New York City) or the sunny city of Los Angeles. I aspire to one day own my own public relations firm that focuses on the entertainment, beauty, and fashion industries. I also hope to one day have my own cosmetics line, open up a beauty bar that caters to all skincare and cosmetic needs, and own my own fashion boutique.

Now to what you all are really here for—my personal style! Anything that’s super feminine and girly is usually right up my alley. From picking the perfect shoes to finding the right accessories, creating A LOOK is a process—although I must admit that the most exciting thing for me when getting ready is usually doing my makeup. I mean, what’s a bomb outfit without a highlight to outshine the sun?

Since I’m from Louisiana, our winters are usually very bipolar. One morning it could be 75 degrees and sunny, and then the next day it’ll be 35 degrees and raining… crazy right? The day these particular photos were taken of me, it was freezing outside—so I decided to wear my white lengthy coat and black booties. I decided to go for a more subtle everyday look, so I opted to accessorize this look with some burgundy gloves and a nude Michael Kors handbag.

I’m so honored to be a part of this experience, and I cannot wait to share all the great trends I spot on campus this semester.
