STYLE GURU BIO: Charlotte Thomson

Hey, hey guys!

My name is Charlotte Thomson. I am originally from Toronto, Canada, but I am in my second year at London College of Fashion studying fashion Visual Merchandising and Branding. I am very excited to start writing for CollegeFashionista for I have always had an interest in fashion photography/video and I would love to expand my experience in fashion writing and blog posting.

Fashion to me is an element of personal expression. Even if one believes to not have a ‘sense of style,’ the way one puts on their clothing is a portrayal of that person. My preferred style is taken from the rock and punk movement of the 1960s, with modern day inspirations from leading designers such as Issaye Miayke, Alexander Wang, and Faith Connexion. As the fashion industry is ever-changing, I enjoy experimenting with new trends and styles and do not oppose going out of my comfort zone. Put me to the test and I will try any trend or style example out their in the fashion industry.

In recent years, I have taken a particular interest in makeup and beauty. The ability to change the way one looks through the artistry of makeup mesmerizes me. I love experimenting with colors and textures to create different looks. My current obsession in makeup is bold eye shadow, cool toned lipsticks, and dying my hair… A LOT!

To expose my type of panache, I put together a short white dress layered with a long sleeved band shirt featuring the 1975. Overtop is an oversized grey denim jacket found in a vintage shop, to keep myself warm. To finish off the look, I balanced the outfit with a simple pair of black tights and Timberland ankle cut boots.

I hope you guys found a little bit of inspiration from this look, and I would love to hear what you think of it. Don’t forget to follow me on social media to get any updates on posts and further styles!
