WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

“Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” -Miranda Priestly, The Devil Wears Prada

Floral prints are a predictable, inevitable and overdone trend in the spring season, but what can we say? They’re cute! Luckily, vintage has made a comeback and they’re not so typical this year but much more adorable. It’s time to go dig through your mom’s high school wardrobe because you might discover a hip vintage treasure like the bell shaped accents in this Fashionista’s outfit.  The trending revival of 1970s fashion has latched onto the flower child’s iconic bell shaped accents and it doesn’t seem to be letting go anytime soon. So hop on the train to Woodstock and pick up a piece with this free-spirited look! Bell accents go fabulously when paired with other retro accessories like a hot pair of cat-eye sunglasses, platforms, a middle part or high wasted jeans/shorts/skirt. This groovy trend can be found almost anywhere but Urban Outfitters and American Eagle Outfitters have a wide selection to chose from in shirts, jeans and dresses.

Ten years ago, Birkenstock’s were only to be found in your grandma’s closet but since late 2013 they’ve become a staple trend. If you’re a campus mover and shaker like this Fashionista, you’ll love the ease of wear and effortlessly chic look these sandals rock. Birkenstock’s are very versatile and can be worn in every season (if you’re brave enough to wear socks with sandals). If you’re on a budget, like rest of us college kids, there are some lovely knock off Birk’s that can be found here.

Our Fashionista tied her wardrobe together with a staple pair of high-waisted jeans, a tan leather side satchel, gold rings and an adorable maroon felt hat that went perfectly well with the florals on her wrapped shirt.

One Simple Change: If you’re going from studying in the library to downtown for date night, try trading out your sandals for a cute pair of brown ankle boots for a sassier look.
